Yep, that's right, Abby got her first taste of food on Friday night. The doctor said that before she comes in for her 6 month appointment we should have her eating rice cereal and some baby food so we figured now was as good a time as any. Actually, the doctor had an interesting perspective. She said "she's going to be eating for the rest of her life, no need to rush it. And, its just more work for you." HA! I am all about less work for me! But truthfully, I knew I had three straight nights with her at home and relatively little else to disrupt our days so it was a good time to try it out.
I'd be lying if I said that Abby ate much. I mixed probably about a tablespoon full and the first night she spit 90% of it out (as you can see here). But, by last night, she was definitely eating it. I don't think she gets the whole thing, but she is defiantly swallowing some of it.
Here's a video for you all to enjoy :O)
Ryan clearly thought it was silly to take a video, so I apologize for his commentary...boys :O) She's only going have her first taste of food once, so we had to make sure to get it on tape.
Check out those baby blues!! I love her to pieces. It's crazy to think that less than 5 short months ago she was still in my belly!! Crazy time.
We will keep going with the cereal for a few more days and then we will try some fruit or veggies. Can't believe how big she's getting.
